...LIONS PEACE POSTER WINNERS
Students from R.H. Murray annually participate in the
Lions International Peace Poster Contest. The theme this
year was "OUR WORLD….OUR PEACE".
Whitefish District Lion members visited the school
recently to judge the posters and again thrilled at the
interpretation from the children. We're amazed with the
different ideas from students and that's why the contest
is so wonderful. Young people see things differently and
we're anxious to see the creativity of each poster and
this year was no different.
The first prize was awarded to Mackenzie Little a Grade
7 student from Whitefish. Second prize went to Mikaela
Matthews a Grade 8 student also from our area. Our
members and volunteers congratulate both of these
winners. Thank you to all the participants and we look
forward to next year.
December is a busy time for Whitefish District Lions
members and volunteers. We assist at the annual Beaver
Lake Senior's dinner which will be held at noon December
4th. We also man the phones at the Lions Telethon and
later deliver toys in our area. Our annual donation
helps to reach the goal so requests for toys can be
filled. In our own immediate area Whitefish District
Lions contribute to the food baskets delivered by the
Women's Institute. Along with all local organizations
we're concerned about the needs of our community.
We know that everyone is busy. If you have a LITTLE TIME
to assist it would be wonderful to hear from you. Good
work makes your "Heart Happy". Our motto is "We Serve".
If you'd like to join us call 705-866-0159.

extremely delicious. All of the members enjoyed the day
