The Walden Art Club Celebrates the

 City’s 125th

The Walden Art Club will be completing a very special project in the near future.
A Mural Mosaic of the Anderson Barn will be finalized and on display at the Tom Davies Square for the June 7th celebration of the City of Greater Sudbury’s 125th anniversary.

It is a large-scaled mural, consisting of a medley of diverse paintings, created by the WAC members.
The Mosaic Mural is composed of 35 canvases measuring 16”x20”, and each canvas is a unique stand alone work of art. The mural features various facets of the Anderson Farm’s history, and of the local heritage which include fauna, flora, mining, and farming. When all of the artistic works are merged they reveal a 6’x12’ painting of the Anderson Barn.

The Walden Art Club’s Mural Mosaic of the Anderson Barn will be on display at the Tom Davies Square for the June 7th celebration of the City of Greater Sudbury’s 125th anniversary. The Mosaic Mural will remain at this site until June 21st where it may be viewed by the public.

The Walden Art Club has donated the mosaic to the Anderson Farm Museum and Heritage Society to be used as a fundraiser and all the funds raised will assist with the renovations required to the stable building of the Anderson Farm. The stable in time will be a wonderful place for the artists in the area and for the community at large.

Our club opens its doors to all artist in the CGS we meet on Saturday mornings at 9:30 At the Ben Moxam Centre on Westview Crescent in Lively.

Happy Birthday Sudbury!

The Walden Art Club’s
Mosaic Mural Causing Excitement

The Walden Art Club’s Mosaic Mural of the Anderson Barn is generating a great deal of excitement in the City of Greater Sudbury. Not only is it’s sheer size impressive, but the eclectic nature of this mural is breathtaking. Each canvas is completely unique in its composition, yet when all 35 are merged, it reveals a unified depiction of the Anderson Barn. Keep checking this website for the on-going development of this “work in progress”.

Walden Art Club Prepares to Paint the Barn

The Walden Art Club has a very special project in the works - a Mural Mosaic of the Anderson Farm. The goal of this fundraising venture is to highlight the rich heritage and history the Anderson Farm brings to the community and GCS. The Mural mosaic will measure 6' x 12' - with all the canvases painted by our members. The 35 unique works of art - each measuring 16" x 20" - will be auctioned off, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Anderson Farm Heritage Fund.
The Mural Mosaic will be on display at our Annual Spring Art Show and Sale on April 19tn & 20th, in the Tom Davies Arena, Lively. Come and see this work in progress! The on-going development of this project can be monitored on this website. Stay in touch as this work unfolds.
